Reading Time: < 1 minute

The youth of Mohlakeng have taken upon themselves to address challenges facing the community.

A Non-Governmental Organisation called the Mohlakeng Youth Movement has established a library after the community library was burnt during service delivery protests earlier this year.

Founder of the organisation Neo Mathetsa says the library is also aimed at promoting the culture of reading.

“What influenced us to start the library is the lack of reading in our community, not just in Mohlakeng but in the rest of the country especially among young people.”

The books at the “Underground Library” are donated by the by different organisations.
