Unbeaten junior lightweight prospect, Azinga Fuzile, will take another step towards a world title fight.

Fuzile will put his International Boxing Federation inter continental junior lightweight title on the line against Mexican challenger Romula Koasicha in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.

Fuzile’s rise has been meteoric, in just two years, he won the South African featherweight crown from McBute Sinyabi in only his fifth fight as a professional fighter and he is still unbeaten 13 fights later. Koasocha is regarded by many to be his stiffest opponent to date.

The veteran of 34 fights, he has traded blows with some of the best in the world.

“He is a come forward fighter, likes to bring pressure, and also killer punches like the left hook. He can counter punch, I have prepared for anything he comes with,”says Fuzile.

“I know him, I saw some videos. He is a good fighter and he is a southpaw. We have trained for him we have trained to win this fight,” says Koasicha.

If he wins on Sunday, Fuzile will be involved in an IBF title elimination bout. In the main supporting bout, Phila Mpontshane will defend his South African junior lightweight title against Koos Sibiya.

The tournament organised by Rumble Africa Promotions, will honour Nelson Mandela Bay’s first world boxing champion, the late Mzukisi Sikali.
