Two suspects are expected to appear at the Witbank Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga facing a charge of unlawful possession of rhino horns.

Police spokesperson, Gerald Sedibe says the suspects aged 27 and 32 were arrested earlier this week on the N4 toll road between Middleburg and Witbank by members of the Highway Patrol unit.

He says the police were informed of a vehicle heading towards Gauteng, transporting rhino horns. Sedibe further says the vehicle was pulled off the road and upon searching, two rhino horns wrapped in a foil and stashed in the spare wheel compartment were found.
