Two killed, one wounded in Tembisa shooting

Two people have been killed and another wounded in a shooting incident at a Tembisa Taxi Rank on Gauteng’s East Rand.

Police say two men randomly opened fire on unarmed civilians. The motive for the shooting is being investigated.

Gauteng Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says both suspects have been apprehended, and two unlicensed firearms were recovered.

“Community members managed to apprehend one of the suspects and he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm. And also the one who got away with the Polo, police gave chase where they cornered him, arrested him and found him in possession of an unlicensed firearm. Both suspects will be charged with double-murder and attempted murder. Our investigation continues. At the moment the motive of the incident is unknown.”
