Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi, says she is confident that world leaders will listen to her call for social justice and economic transformation in poor societies. She was speaking at her welcoming celebrations in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.

“What I can say definitely is that I will continue with the messages that I am trying to spread and hopefully someone will listen and contribute towards it. I mean never mind global leaders, South Africans as well, you know contribute towards making sure that we get to a place where we want to correct social place,” says Tunzi.

Tunzi’s official welcoming will be held at the Mthatha Stadium on Sunday.

Tunzi arrived in South Africa on Saturday and was welcomed by some of her fans at OR Tambo International Airport.

Some of the people that welcomed Tunzi included Miss South Africa, Sasha Lee and the Soweto Gospel Choir, which performed at the event.

Meanwhile, Tunzi’s mother says she is thrilled to have her daughter back.

Philiswa Tunzi was among those who waited for her arrival at the Mthatha Airport in the Eastern Cape. She believes that the people of Tsolo and the whole country are excited that her daughter is back in the country.

“Oh this is the great moment, I am so grateful to God first because he is always and was the pillar of my strength so I am so grateful to God. I am very happy that she is back home because we have been waiting for her, we have been longing to see her, so we are very happy,” says Tunzi’s mother.
