The Tshwane Metro Police says they are worried about the number of people who have died so far in the capital over the Easter Weekend.

Tshwane Metro Police spokesperson, Isaac Mahamba, says three people have lost their lives in the Metro area alone, while dozens of people have lost their lives countrywide.

Mahamba says he can’t give the specific number of fatalities so far as the Transport Minister will reveal that in his briefing in the coming week.

“We are worried in terms of what’s happening currently. We wanted to make sure that by now we are at zero. But nevertheless, we continue to put in efforts to make sure that we do not see any other fatalities in the area of Tshwane. We have deployed our members at this stage in and around the residential areas,” Mahamba.
