The Musicians Association of South Africa (Masa) has sent its condolences to the family and friends of the legendary bubble-gum artist, Vusi Shange.

Shange died on Friday night, aged 64, at his home in Vosloorus, on Gauteng’s East Rand.

Shange was a hit maker in the 1990’s.

Masa spokesperson Tebogo Sethathu says Shange died at the time when they are trying to revive music legends.

“Bra Vusi, I personally remember him as an electric man, our own James Brown. He started way back with the likes of ntate Blondie Makhene when they were young in the early 70s when they started to be professionals. He will be solely, solely missed.”
