Former Orlando Pirates teammates Helman Mkhalele and Gavin Lane have paid tribute to Marc Batchelor.
Batchelor died after he was shot several times in his car outside his home in Johannesburg.
Batchelor was one of the few players who played for Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows.
Mkhalele says he is heartbroken.
Lane played with Batchelor at Pirates in the 90s and they were part of the famous team that won the African champions league in 1995, after having won the league title in 1994.
Lane says he shared a room with him in the camp. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
