Protestors have blocked Malibongwe Drive in Randburg, north of Johannesburg, with burning tyres and rubble.
Motorists are advised to avoid the N14 highway due to a service delivery protest.
Johannesburg Metro police says Malibongwe Drive has been blocked off to traffic and police are monitoring the situation. Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minaar says traffic has been affected.
“Malibongwe road is affected at the N14 due to protest action. This is affecting traffic to Lanseria Airport from Randburg. Motorists are advised to drive with caution. More officers are being sent to control the situation in order to clear the road.”
