Thousands of Santas make a run for it during Mexico Christmas race

Reading Time: < 1 minute

“Here comes Santa Claus” was an understatement in Mexico on Sunday as thousands of local runners donned the popular red and white suit and white beards for a fun run to bring Christmas cheer to struggling families.

Dashing through the streets of Mexico’s northern city of Monterrey, the race participants were decked out in Christmas cheer with the grinch, snowman and other familiar characters featured through the race route of five and ten kilometres approximately three and six miles.

The fun run is for a good cause, with proceeds from ticket revenues being used to buy presents for disadvantaged children.
