Throngs of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supporters have arrived at the Great Stadium in Soshanguve, outside Pretoria.

There is a buzz of excitement and activity ahead of the start of the party’s launch of its election manifesto, which EFF Deputy Secretary-General Hlengiwe Mkhalipi earlier said is designed for the people by the people, following engagements with various sectors of the community.

EFF National Chairperson Dali Mpofu, says this is an important day not only for the EFF but for South Africa as a whole.

“This is a very important day in the history of the EFF, but our feeling is that it’s an important day in the history of the country as well. After centuries of oppression, once again – our people have a chance to take away the yolk of oppression should they entrust the country in our hands for the next five years.”

Mpofu adds: “Without the EFF, I can tell you now President Zuma would still be the president of this country, the Guptas would still be here, there would be no Zondo Commission, we wouldn’t know about the shenanigans of Bosasa and Agrizzi and all these things and just imagine if there was no EFF.”
