The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Arts and Culture, is discussing and reviewing the Language Bill, Following Public Hearings which were held in January. Academics, Language Experts and NGO’s have raised concerns, regarding the delay in enacting the bill. But most notably, they are worried that the Bill as it stands will not address the challenge of making all languages equal. One of the major challenges is to ensure that government services are available in all indigenous languages.
