As the vote counting processes are underway across South Africa following the General Elections, many disgruntled political parties have taken to the Electoral Commission of South Africa to voice their frustration with the commission.

Various parties have raised disputes, complains and some have lodged objections with the IEC.

The SABC spoke to Terry Tselane from the Institute of Election Management Services in South Africa  to get a better understanding of what these forms of grievances mean.

Tselane says complaints that the commission receives are matters that need to be dealt with informally or through some kind on conciliation.

He says objections are legal instruments that are there to assist the political parties to deal with aspects in the value.
chain that they are not happy with.
