South African leg-spinner, Imran Tahir, will retire from One-Day International cricket after 2019’s World Cup in England, but will still be available for the Proteas in the T20 format.

The 39-year-old, who is contracted by Cricket South Africa until the 31st of July this year, was instrumental in the Proteas’ eight wicket victory over Sri Lanka at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday.

He has played 95 One-Day Internationals and if he’s selected for the World Cup he will play his 100th during the tournament in England later this year.

The second One-Day International against Sri Lanka will be played at Supersport Park in Centurion on Wednesday.
