The ANC says President Cyril Ramaphosa has displayed an act of transparency and accountability before South Africans by publicly responding to Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s findings against him.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has received the Public Protector’s notice on her probe into allegations that he lied to Parliament.
The claims relate to the R500 000 Bosasa donation to support his campaign for the ANC presidency.
The SACP has joined calls for a parliamentary inquiry into the Public Protector. The Democratic Alliance also wants an inquiry into Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s fitness to hold office after several scathing judgments against her reports.
Cope has accused the Public Protector of dragging her feet in making public the findings of the investigations into the Estina Dairy Farm.
Western Cape Premier Helen Zille is refusing to step down and says she’d welcome a special sitting of the Provincial Legislature to debate the Public Protector’s findings against her.
