Standard Bank Proteas Test captain Faf du Plessis has praised his side’s fighting spirit despite being thumped by 191 runs in the fourth Test against England and subsequently losing the series 3-1.
England bowled South Africa out for 274 runs on Monday to win the fourth test at The Wanderers by 191 runs and ensure an emphatic 3-1 series victory.
Captain Joe Root top scored as England took a huge 465-run lead over South Africa on the third day of the fourth test and were bowled out for 248 just before stumps in their second innings at The Wanderers on Sunday.
