The ANC Chief Whip, Pemmy Majodina, has refuted opposition parties’ claims that the SONA that President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered when he opened the sixth Parliament last week, was a mere dream which was short on tangible solutions on growing the economy.
The African National Congress in Parliament has confirmed that it will announce the new chairpersons of its portfolio committees in the National Assembly next week. Media reports claimed that the official announcement was delayed due to internal squabbles within the party.

ANC National Working Committee member and Environmental Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane will also not be sworn into the National Assembly on Wednesday. Earlier it was announced that Deputy President David Mabuza has asked for his swearing in to be postponed until allegations against him have been dealt within the party’s Integrity Commission.
Newly appointed ANC Chief Whip Pemmy Majodina has vowed that members of the party will robustly carry out their oversight role over the executive.
