Mokonyane to be redeployed to Luthuli House

The ANC has announced that Nomvula Mokonyane will be redeployed to its head office at Luthuli House in Johannesburg. She has requested that her name be withdrawn from the list of those being sworn in as Members of Parliament (MP) earlier today.

ANC National Working Committee member and Environmental Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane will also not be sworn into the National Assembly on Wednesday. Earlier it was announced that Deputy President David Mabuza has asked for his swearing in to be postponed until allegations against him have been dealt within the party’s Integrity Commission.

DA to reflect on short comings at polls

The Democratic Alliance (DA) remains the official opposition in the National Assembly, however, it has been dethroned as the official opposition in some provinces. Spokesperson Solly Malatsi says they need to reflect on the party’s performance in the elections.

IEC to hand over list of designated MPs to the Chief Justice

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng will on Wednesday officially receive the list of designated members of Parliament and provincial legislatures from the Independent Electoral Commission.
