The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it’s disappointed to lose Wednesday’s election for the Johannesburg mayoral position.
The DA will be going to an early Federal Congress in May 2020 where the party’s highest decision making body will elect a new leadership.
John Steenhuisen is the Democratic Alliance’s new interim leader, and Ivan Meyer has been elected as the interim Federal Chairperson.
Delegates have started to arrive at the DA headquarters in Bruma, Johannesburg, to elect the party’s interim leader and interim Federal chairperson.
Democratic Alliance (DA) Gauteng Member of Provincial Legislature Makashule Gana has outlined the changes he believes should be made in the party including the need for the DA to focus on economic, social and environmental justice.
