Eskom warns of a high risk of load shedding later on Friday. The power utility says its system remains constrained and there’s a need to continue to replenish its reserves.
Eskom says it has not received any notices of a planned strike by employees. This after reports surfaced on Monday suggesting that South Africa could be plunged into darkness once again due to a possible strike.
Eskom says there’s a high possibility of stage 2 load shedding on Friday. The power utility says its power generation plant is undergoing maintenance.
Eskom insists that disciplinary action will be taken against employees who embarked on an illegal strike as the power utility is regarded as an essential service.
Eskom is investigating the cause of a fire which broke out at its Kusile Station Unit three fabric filter plant in eMalahleni Mpumalanga on Friday.
