The Gauteng Human Rights Commission’s Manager, Buang Jones has warned that threats made against his life will not deter him from continuing with investigations into alleged corruption in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg.
Police have been deployed to Marlboro north of Johannesburg, to monitor the area, following last week’s violent protests.

Gauteng MEC for Human Settlement, Lebogang Maile has promised residents affected by the demolition of their homes that they would be assisted. He says the manner in which the operation was conducted is unacceptable.
Residents from informal settlements protesting against the demolition of their homes in Alexandra and Marlboro, north of Johannesburg have threatened to march to the Gautrain Marlboro Station, and prevent the Gautrain from operating.
