Police are investigating a case of murder after a 59-year-old man that reportedly shot and killed a priest at Lentegeur, in Mitchells Plain on the Cape Flats.
Two unidentified suspects killed the victim while he was on his way to work. The incident happened during a robbery.
Police Spokesperson, Hein Hendricks, says the suspects are still at large.
“The deceased was on his way to work when approached by unknown assailants who tried to rob him. A struggle ensued between the suspects and the deceased ending with the deceased fatally shot. An off-duty police official intervened and the suspects fled the scene. A firearm was recovered with a case of murder registered for investigation. Detectives are working around the clock in an effort to find the perpetrators.”
