Police in Gelvandale, Port Elizabeth have arrested a gang affiliate on charges of attempted murder and for being in possesion of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
Police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu says, a 13-year-old girl was shot outside a shop in Gelvandale.
Immediate response led to the arrest of a 25 year-old man in a house in nearby Helenvale.
He was found hiding in a bedroom and a 9mm fire arm that was reportedly stolen in Algoa Park in December 2016 was confiscated.
In another incident, a 27-year-old pregnant woman was shot in the stomach while attending a funeral in Helenvale.
The suspect is still at large and the police are investigating a case of attempted murder.
