A man has been arrested at the notorious Glebelands hostel in Umlazi, Durban for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition. Police say the suspect has been linked to murders and other crimes at the KwaZulu-Natal hostel.
Umlazi police were conducting patrols at the hostel when they received information about a group of people allegedly in possession of firearms. Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane says the man was found with special revolver with its serial number erased.
The suspect is expected to appear at the Umlazi Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
