North West Premier, Supra Mahumapelo intends to approach President Cyril Ramaphosa about Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi’s utterances over the province’s contract with Mediosa.

Motsoaledi has called for an end to the contract between the province’s health department and the Gupta-linked company.

The Health minister was speaking to the media after conducting a walkabout at the Mediosa mobile clinic in Ratlou.

Mediosa allegedly received a R30 million payment from the department in May last year before doing any work.

Premier Mahumapelo says he’s disappointed by the minister’s actions.

He said, “It’s very unfortunate that Minister Motsoaledi comes to the province, doesn’t talk to me and we just hear what he says in the media. I would have indicated to him that I already announced that there is going to be an investigation. I would have indicated to him that the HoD is on special leave so that the investigation is seen not to be interrupted. I intend to writing to the president so that I can meet with the president in the presence of Minister Motsoaledi so we can put on the table the facts.”
