The African National Congress (ANC) says the sentiments of its supporters remain a high priority, despite the ongoing tensions over the leadership of the North West.

Secretary-general Ace Magashule on Tuesday announced that the National Executive Committee (NEC) still needed to further discuss the appointment of a new Premier for the province.

The NEC had received three names of potential candidates for the position.

ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe says the party is working on restoring stability to the North West.

“In everything else that we are doing we are paying attention to public sentiments, making sure that in our overall response, we also attend to public sentiments. What are the steps that we have taken? The former Premier has resigned as Premier of that province, we will work and act with speed to make sure that we return the province of the North West to levels of stability,” adds Mabe.
