There are two-high profile matches in the Absa Premiership Tuesday evening; Mamelodi Sundowns travel to Cape Town City while Orlando Pirates host Bloemfontein Celtic.

Only one point separates second-placed Pirates from log leaders, Sundowns, with City in 4th place and Celtic just inside the top eight bracket.

With less than 10 rounds of matches remaining in the current Absa Premiership campaign, Cape Town City could be the kingmakers.

Benni McCarthy’s team has merged young talent with experienced campaigners. They came back from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 away to then log leaders, Bidvest Wits on Saturday evening.

That should send the alarm bells ringing for Sundowns who are traveling to the Mother City after playing to a goalless draw against Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday. The defending champions still have the advantage of a game in hand, but that will count for nothing if they don’t produce results.

The match kicks off at 19:30.

At the same time, Pirates will be entertaining Celtic at the Orlando Stadium. Although the Buccaneers are still not convincing in front of goals, they are playing enterprising attacking football.

Milutin Sredojevic will be counting on his troops to increase the pressure on Sundowns at the summit of the standings.

Siwelele, on the other hand, need to forget about their off-the-field problems when they enter the Orlando Stadium.
