Stormers name team to face Brumbies

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Stormers have named their team to play the Brumbies on Saturday in a Super Rugby game at Newlands, and there are three changes and a positional switch from the team who beat the Rebels in Melbourne last week.

Stormers coach Robbie Fleck has selected Josh Stander and Dan Kriel to replace the rested pair of Jean-Luc du Plessis and Damian de Allende, while Pieter-Steph Du Toit comes in at blindside flank, with Kobus Van Dyk moving to eighth-man for the injured Jaco Coetzee.

Fleck says the decision to play Siya Kolisi off the bench is two-fold, as he still needs a bit of a break after having just a week off, but he also wants to give Ernst Van Rhyn another chance.

Fleck is looking forward to see the combination of Stander and Kriel at 10 and 12, with the pair having shone in the Currie Cup last season.

Steven Kitshoff will once again lead the team in Kolisi’s absence and he says returning to Newlands will be a big confidence boost after their games in New Zealand and Australia.

Kitshoff feels they have prepared well for the Brumbies, especially to deal their quality at set pieces.
