South Africa surprisingly dominated all facets of the game accept for the lineouts but it is always a matter of time before the world no.1 side came roaring back into the game.

Erasmus, who gave more of his players a chance against New Zealand with the World Cup in mind, says he was pleased with his sides first 40 minutes.

With the Springboks battle for the starting birth at outside centre heating up, Sharks midfielder Lukhanyo Am once again did not disappoint against the world’s best midfielders.

Erasmus agrees that Am played a pivotal role in shutting down the All Blacks backline before being replaced by Jesse Kriel in the second half.

Both New Zealand and South Africa are expected to strengthen their squads with a few players returning to the fold ahead of their respective Rugby World Cup squad announcement next month.

Erasmus adds that they will take a lot of positives from this clash.
