Springbok Coach Rassie Erasmus has added eight players from the Sharks to his training squad for the upcoming Rugby Championship in August.

He also released two players from the Stormers from his original 20-man squad earlier on Wednesday.

Lwazi Mvovo is one of eight players from the Sharks who have been added to the Springbok training squad.

They will join the camp in Stellenbosch on Thursday, where the group is currently busy with preparations for next month’s Rugby Championship.

The Durban based group consists of four forwards and four back line players.

The forwards are props Beast Mtawarira and Thomas du Toit, hooker Akker van der Merwe and loose-forward Jean-Luc du Preez.

Centres Lukhanyo Am and André Esterhuizen as well as wing Makazole Mapimpi also join Mvovo in the squad.

Players from the Lions will be added to the training squad once they have completed their Super Rugby commitments.

They play the Waratahs in a semi-final match in Johannesburg on Saturday.
