Northern Cape’s blade runner, Calvino Cloete’s, dream to be an international athlete has come true.

His latest achievement was a bronze medal in the 200 metres, which he recently acquired at the International Wheelchair and Amputees Sport Federation’s event, held in Portugal.

The Springbok blade runner has now set his sights on the 2020 Paralympic Games.

“Next year we will start with Nationals and then there is World Champions, but I’m actually working on taking part in the 400-meters at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.”

Coach Mario Baadjies is excited about Cloete’s achievements however he expresses his concerns for sports and training facilities. He says that they will carry on working on his running which could catch the attention of sponsors.
