Soweto parents urged to safeguard children during Mam Winnie funeral

Police in Gauteng have warned Soweto parents to safeguard their children during Winnie Madikizela Mandela’s funeral proceedings as motorcades are moving around the township.

Provincial Police Spokesperson Mathapelo Peters says they have noticed some over excitement on children which could result in danger.

He says on Friday when the army was reheasing for the funeral children were running up and down with excitement.

The children wanted to join the army and march with the army.

There are motorbikes and rifles so anything could go wrong. We wish to caution parent to lookout for their childen and make sure that they are safe,” says Peters.
