Western Cape Electoral Officer, Courtney Sampson, has encouraged people to make use of the opportunity to apply for special votes for the May General Elections

Sampson attended an SABC meeting in Cape Town aimed at engaging with different political parties about broadcasting regulations in the approach to the upcoming elections.

Voting officials will visit registered voters who can’t travel to voting stations due to being physically in-firmed, disabled or pregnant to cast their votes.

Sampson says applications for special votes will take place between April 4 and 18.

They can apply via proxies by sending a proxy to the IEC offices.

People who are unable to vote on the 8th, but are available to vote on the 6th and 7th of May, can apply for voting at the voting station.
