The standard of living for South African Households has improved since 2002.

Statistician General Risenga Maluleke released the 2018 General Household Survey in Pretoria today.

The figures stipulates that formal housing has increased from eight million in 2002 to over 13 million in 2018.

The increasing demand for housing particularly in Metropolitan Provinces, remains a massive housing shortfall.

Electricity has also been found to be more accessible as use of paraffin and wood for cooking.

Access to social grants provision has also increased though remains unsustainable means of survival for most of  the more than 15-million beneficiaries.
