Reading Time: < 1 minute

Six people have been killed and three others injured in a collision between two vehicles on the Polokwane-Matlala road in Limpopo.

Traffic authorities say one of the drivers lost control of his vehicle and hit the other car.

Transport department spokesperson Matome Moremi says the six victims of the crash were killed instantly.

Moremi says reckless driving by one of the drivers is suspected to be the cause of the crash.

Meanwhile transport department senior officials are on Saturday expected to visit the family of a traffic officer who was knocked down by a motorist in the Tubatse municipal area yesterday.

The traffic officer was hit by the vehicle after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign.

The driver has since been arrested and he is facing drunk driving and murder charges.
