World Athletics and Olympic 800m champion, Caster Semenya says she wants answers on why she has been denied entry into Sunday’s International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Diamond League meeting in Rabat in Morocco.
The Moroccan Athletics Federation gave no reason for not allowing Semenya to compete. This is despite Switzerland’s highest court, the Swiss Federal Tribunal, rejecting a request by the IAAF for eligibility regulations to be re-imposed on the South African.
Semenya’s lawyer, Greg Nott, has indicated that the IAAF wanted the ruling to be reinstated against his client immediately pending her appeal, but that the Tribunal refused.
The ruling the federation wants to introduce, will prevent female athletes with high testosterone levels from competing internationally in events between 400 metres and a mile.
