SARS confiscates counterfeit goods worth R1.3 million in W Cape

South African Revenue Service (SARS) customs officials have confiscated counterfeit goods worth R1.3 million from a truck that was stopped and searched at the Rawsonville weighbridge, in the Boland.

Western Cape Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa, says 800 pairs of sports shoes and 430 Springbok jerseys were confiscated during the search.

He says customs officials will also be investigating the incident further, in order to trace the origin and the destination of the fake goods.
