Reading Time: < 1 minute

The South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) has condemned the killing of Taxify driver, Siyabonga Ngcobo.  His burnt remains were found in the boot of his cab in Sunnyside, Pretoria last Friday.

A memorial service for Ngcobo was held on Thursday.

It is alleged that the deceased was shoved into the boot of his car and taken to an open field in Sunnyside where the vehicle was set alight.

Santaco spokesperson Thabisho Molelekwa says they have told the metered taxi industry that the violence is not the way of solving problems, and says the killing of Ngcobo is not justifiable.
