The SANDF has warned the public of an ongoing recruitment scam in the Western Cape trying to swindle people of their money by promising them job placements in the army.
Spokesperson Brigadier-General, Mafi Mgobozi, says a syndicate posing as a recruitment agency of the defence force operates in Western and Eastern Cape provinces.
He says the alleged perpetrators take money from unsuspecting victims hoping to be transported to various parts of the country to join the army.
He says the public must not fall into this scam like people in Kwa-Zulu Natal last year.
“These people want your money and we do not sell our forms, we do not ask for money,” says Mgobozi.
“You just apply and the necessary processes are followed.”
