It’s all systems go for the 12th South African Film and Television Awards (Safta) at Sun City Super Bowl in the North West this weekend.
The first part of the event took place on Thursday as a build-up to the live awards ceremony on Saturday night. There are over 200 nominees in over 80 categories in this year’s competition.
The world renowned Sun City resort is a hive of activity as the who’s who in the South African entertainment industry flocked to the Safta’s to celebrate the cream of the crop in the industry.
The 12th edition of the Safta’s are being held outside Gauteng for the second time this year.
The awards ceremony started on Thursday night, hosted by Phat Joe, who will then be joined by Thando Thabethe for the main event on Saturday evening.
The winners in almost 20 categories will be announced during a glittering occasion, where the best in local talent will provide the entertainment.
