An independent commission of inquiry into sexual harassment claims at the SABC is expected to make public its findings and recommendations on Tuesday.

This will happen during a media briefing called at the SABC headquarters in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.

The inquiry was set up in June this year following recommendations by a parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee to deal with various forms of unlawful conduct at the public broadcaster.

Initially, two high-level commissions of inquiry were announced by the SABC in June this year. One was to probe issues of editorial interference and the other one sexual harassment allegations.

The SABC said then that the process was part of the on-going work to transform the SABC into a truly accountable and responsive corporate entity.

The process was also to assist the corporation to deal with serious instances of abuse of power.

Only the sexual harassment report will be released on Tuesday.

The SABC says the commission probing editorial interference will be released at a later stage.
