SABC scoops awards at Liberty Radio Awards

One SABC presenter and two of its stations have walked away with Liberty Radio Awards at a ceremony in Sandton, on Saturday night. Anita Visser of the Afrikaans language station, Radio Sonder Grense, won the best documentary award for a piece on Women in South African Prisons.

Among the SABC’s commercial radio stations, Metro FM took the award for best afternoon Drive Show, while the Limpopo-based  Tsonga-language station, Munghana Lonene FM, won the best Weekend Show award.

The Liberty Radio Awards aims to present a credible, well-judged transparent programme that promotes and recognises excellence in radio, with the objective of ensuring that radio remains one of South Africa’s foremost media choices.
