News, current affairs and quirky videos led the way in the year that was on the SABC News YouTube channel.
Although videos on the Oscar Pistorius trial and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) dominated the list, it was a video of a startled public safety official who witnessed a car accident during an interview about the state of a North West road (notorious for accidents) that took the top spot with well over 700 000 views.
Other videos included the funeral services for Senzo Meyiwa and Vuyo Mbuli as well as a video on a lion that gave birth to eight cubs.
Two of the videos in the list also made the YouTube’s Rewind list of Top Trending Videos of 2014 (South Africa). Videos on the EFF taking on President Zuma in Parliament and Julius Malema reacting to the 2014 State of the Nation Address (SONA), took 7th and 8th position in the list.
