SABC’s Spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago says the public broadcaster is aiming to lead in the production of news across the country.

He was speaking in Durban where he was engaging with the media on different issues that affect the SABC.

Kganyago says changes that are expected on SABC’s 24 hour news channel and SAfm are the example of making sure that the SABC leads in news gathering and presentation.

“We felt that as an organisation, we need to revamp all of that, and make sure that the changes that are made on 404 are made with the intention to make 404 the leader of news in the country. In as far as SAfm is concerned, we are changing the way it does business. We are moving away being a news-governed kind of content to be a talk show, but all of these changes strategically done to make sure that we give a product that the people of South Africa want to see,” says Kganyago.
