The EFF says the country’s youth are no longer tied to a sense of loyalty to the ANC for freeing the country from apartheid. The party says it has no doubt it will be in government following the national elections. The EFF will hold its election manifesto rally on Saturday in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.
Research surveys have estimated that the EFF has grown to 13% since it was formed in 2013. It also had its share of controversy with its top leadership facing allegations of involvement in both corruption and wrongdoing.
However, EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu says the party is stronger because the country’s youth have faith in it.
“The EFF will definitely be in government after the general elections, it’s a given. The EFF is the only growing political party in South Africa. When the IEC announced the voter registration statistics, they actually confirmed a lot of young people have registered to vote. This is an inspiration because – when there are youth elections and there is an equal platform for participation, the EFF emerges victorious.”
He adds: “It’s a good boost for us because young people have got confidence in the EFF; they are not tied and arrested to the liberation politics. Young people are going to save this country.”
