Indian authorities say they have not yet heard anything from their South African counterparts on the possibility of extraditing the two Gupta brothers who have fled to the sub-continent.
Earlier, the Indian authorities said it would take more than six months to extradite fugitive, Ajay Gupta to South Africa.
Indian media reports that Ajay and Atul Gupta have been seen in various Indian cities over the last few days.
They travelled to their hometown of Saharanpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh although Ajay has reportedly left the region by helicopter and his current location is unknown.
The Indian government has also confirmed that they are yet to hear anything from the South African officials regarding help to track down the two brothers.
India and South Africa do have an extradition treaty for the exchange of criminals.
The Indian government says the minute they hear from government, they will begin the process but this being a legal matter, the entire process could take as long as six months, if not more.
