SA football mourns death of referee Eketsang Setloboko

Condolences are pouring in for national panel referee Eketsang Setloboko. According to the South African Football Association, Setloboko died in an accident on Friday night.

The Eastern Cape born referee recently officiated the Soweto derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs on 27 October . He was also in charge of the 2018 MTN Final between SuperSport and Cape Town City at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in September.

The Premier Soccer League says it will observe a moment of silence at its matches in memory of him.

Setloboko has been a match official since 2015.  Football fans and clubs have taken to social media to send messages of comfort to Setloboko’s family.
