Last season’s winners, False Bay did not qualify this time after losing the Western Province title to Durbanville Bellvile.

Fourty year-old former Stormers and Lions wing, Wylie Human, is one of the oldest players in the competition. He is back with his childhood club Gardens from Uitenhage.

“I was born and bred here. Now I am coming to give it back to my home team, actually it’s my family club. I am trying to help the players to develop, trying to work with their skills and that stuff. At this moment I am not involved in coaching,” says Human.
