Rohde murder case back in court

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Property mogul Jason Rohde has told the Cape Town High Court that he never physically hurt his late wife Susan.

Rohde is accused of killing her at the Spier Wine Estate in Stellenbosch in 2016. He has pleaded not guilty.

Rohde took the stand on Monday and managed to maintain his composure as he took the court through his relationship with his late wife.

He describes his 23 year marriage as one that had stormy patches as the couple often disagreed about their three children.

He says he often thought his wife pushed their children. He says they would often get into, what he described, as awful fights but they never became physical.

Rohde confirmed that the couple went to a number of counselling sessions, but that they had a good marriage overall.
