Democratic Alliance (DA) Member of the Gauteng Legislature Khume Ramulifho says he will hold a meeting with the party’s Federal Executive Chairperson James Selfe on Monday morning to discuss the appointment of Natasha Mazzone as second deputy chairperson.

The DA has dismissed reports that Mazzone assumed the role without an election.

Ramulifho has threatened to seek legal advice on the appointment if the outcome of the meeting is not in his favour.

“We are going to have conversation this Monday morning with the DA executive chairperson about this issue. Depending on how the conversation will turn out, then we will decide what sort of action to take. But obviously what you need to know is that the decision that federal legal decision commission takes can only be reviewed by the high court in terms of the DA constitution.”
